KinFolk isn’t your typical salon.
It’s a space with soul, created for the modern stylist who’s ready to work on their own terms—without pressure, burnout, or the noise that can come with traditional salon models whether rental or commission.

Tucked into a cozy corner of Royal Oak, the salon has been a home for hair artists for over 30 years. The vintage charm is still alive—retro dryers, warm wood, familiar quiet—but now it’s paired with a fresh perspective. Here, there’s room to breathe, create, and return to the kind of work that feels meaningful.

​This space was made for the modern stylist. The one who’s rebuilding after burnout, easing back into the chair after time away, or ready to step into some independence without the overwhelm of going full suite. You’re experienced. Intentional. And looking for flexibility that fits your life—not the other way around.

At KinFolk, you’ll find part-time rental options, commission opportunities and a professional setup with vintage character. Ultimately we provide the freedom to run your business without micromanagement or pressure. WiFi, backbar, and beverages are always included—and if you want it, there’s optional access to a fully stocked color bar, coaching, business education, and creative support.

What you won’t find here is hustle culture, cliques, or competition. Just a calm, curated environment where you can focus on your clients and your craft.
